It is always nice to meet a fellow strict constructionist. We are rare! Since the statists say the Constitution means whatever the judges say it means, they don’t concern themselves with such mundane matters as whether the subject of their treaty is a proper object of the powers of the President and Congress. They just ignore The Constitution altogether! So do the judges! Really! Non-lawyers seem to have a hard time grasping this. Perhaps it is because they didn’t spend 3 years in law school being told that judges set policy, judges make law, the constitution means what the judges say it means, etc. over & over for 3 years! At the end of that time, most graduates actually believe it!

Finally, Alexander Hamilton, not Jefferson, was the 3rd author of The Federalist! In fact, Hamilton wrote most of The Papers; and he is a gold mine of wonderful quotes!
