Toasted ACORN anyone?
Chestnuts are good, but … this just came in over at FoxNews.com:
Senate Votes to Cut Off ACORN Housing Funding
The amendment, offered by Sen. Mike Johanns, passed in a vote of 83 to 7 and prohibits the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now from receiving funds from the current Transportation and Housing and Urban Development appropriations bill. It marks the third time this year Republicans tried to block the organization from federal funding.
This will hurt ACORN, but what is really needed is an investigation of ACORN by the Justice Department on racketeering. When you start reading about all of the things they have been dodging over the past few years, you wonder how they have survived for so long.
Will Attorney General Eric Holder do what’s right, or will he punt as he did in the case against the two Philadelphia Black Panther members charged with voter intimidation following last Novembers presidential election? I wouldn’t be able to get away with one percent of what ACORN has been shown to be pulling off … but then it would be tough for me to yell ‘racist’ after being accused of not paying my payroll taxes.

ACORN’s Useful Idiots
The subject of my last post really got to me … down deep. I thought, ‘how could someone in a position of responsibility of the magnitude of the top law enforcement officer of a state, go after someone uncovering anyone exposing a crime such as the ones caught on tape by two very intrepid people ( James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, the two who pulled off the ‘sting’ operation).’
So … I’ve been doing some poking around on the net to see what I could uncover. My first look was at the CNN website. Surely a story of this magnitude would not get past such staunch supporters of our first amendment rights as the “the world’s leaders in online news and information delivery. Staffed 24 hours, seven days a week by a dedicated staff in CNN’s world headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and in bureaus worldwide, CNN.com relies heavily on CNN’s global team of almost 4,000 news professionals. CNN.com features the latest multimedia technologies, from live video streaming to audio packages to searchable archives of news features and background information. The site is updated continuously throughout the day” (from CNN’s ‘about’ page).
What did I find?

I looked real good … really, really good, and couldn’t seem to find anything related to ACORN. Maybe it was time for a coffee break in Atlanta.
So I knew I’d find the story in blazing headlines at one of the alphabet networks; after all … didn’t Walter look after the American people over at one of those? So … on to CBS!

Well I’m stumped! I don’t see anything about ACORN here! Oh that’s right … Walter has been taking a dirt nap. Surly ABC is on the case!

Well son-of-a gun! Right up there with the Michigan mom. I’m impressed!
I’ll go over to MSNBC where they can be trusted for the most up-to-date reporting on, on, on … their web site?

Not a bold headline, but at least it’s mentioned!
A ha! We can always count of the “newspaper of record” for a detailed report of what ever is going on in this great country … keeping on top of everything … the most minuet story … going on anywhere, anytime, around the country.

Nothing on the front page, but surely over on page K -14 … wait a minute … there isn’t a Section K on Fridays! Must be an over-site on Pinch’s part part today. I know he would have have printed Section K had he know ACORN was going to …er, those two racist people were going to attack ACORN over the last two days! Maybe it’s past Pinch’s bedtime.
Let’s look at the LA Times … they should still be awake!

Maybe it’s always past the LA Times’ bedtime!
I know who we can trust!!!!
PBS!! They’re controlled (or at least paid for!) by the government … and we an always trust the government, right?

Hummm … not a mention of ACORN on PBS. Oh I forgot … the government doesn’t work on the weekends!
I know, I should head to the local news outlet. They’ll have a headline story about the most important even to happen in their town since … uh … Monica Lew … uh … Barak Obama delivered his electrifyingly bipartisan speech to a joint secession of Congress on Sept 9th.

Well … after searching diligently, I do see a link about ACORN DC firing two people. Surly ABC7 News is just underplaying the story, not wanting to risk making a mountain out out of a mole hill … so to speak.
Last resort! What does Fox News have to say about this non-story?

You’ll also notice the dichotomy of three of the stories headlined:
- 9/11 Remembered
- US, Allies Okay Talks with Iran
- Census Bureau Severs Ties with ACORN
I ask …………. who’s “Fair and Balanced?”
